Summer is zipping on by!!! I can't keep up!

Can you believe it's July already and almost August??!! It blows my mind that the start of school is just around the corner. Since I posted last a lot has been happening on the LSC campus, which if memory serves me correctly my last posting was after LSC students had just left for the summer. Time as you can see has passed me by!!

I saw incoming meteorology freshmen, Dan from Long Island, at "SOAR" (student orientation advising registration) a few weeks ago, and he reminded me that I haven't been as diligient about posting as promised. So folks, this is my renewed promise to keep up with my postings because I know you all are anxious as ever to hear the tales of admissions and of course, tidbits on my life happenings.

Where to begin??! As of today, we have had 3 sessions of SOAR so far this summer (about 500 students and parents have attended--rough estimate). It's been awesome to see (and meet) all of the new students that will be coming this fall. And, especially the ones that I have worked with for over a year now. There is much excitement and nervous energy in the air, which all comes with the territory of starting college....You really gotta love college! For me, this time of the year definitely is one of my favorites. I can't wait to see you all this fall (returning students too!) !

On a personal note...I am enjoying my summer immensely. My husband and I managed to get away for a vacation at the end of June...we ventured south (we drove the whole way!! Insane!) to the Outer Banks (NC) to meet up with my family for a reunion of sorts. It was a blast...we did a ton of swimming, bogey boarding, fishing, clam digging, long jogs on the beach (my calves are waiting for an apology!) sand castle building, eating and more eating. I felt utterly refreshed when I returned to VT....just seeing family always seems to renew my energy.
Hopefully, you all have enjoyed some vacations of your own this summer! A little r and r never hurt anyone!

And, to give you all an update on my husky, Kenai...he is growing like a weed...he is now over 60lbs! Yep, you read that right, he has grown steadily, eats like a hog, and is hyper as ever (just think of what kids are like on pop rocks and soda). I will post a recent of photo of him next time I write.
I shall close...time to start wrapping up the day...More later...
